I wish I knew but what I do know is that it changes a person. No matter what they say.

Thinking
Even in a different time zone my best friend always gets me thinking. Do we ever forget our past relationships or parts of them? Why do we say we are over it when we really aren't? Does it take too much energy to forget? The hurt, the sadness, the sense of loss, worrying about what they will say to others, are your secrets in danger, and did they even care?

Truth Be Told
There is never an easy way to say goodbye to a friend who you thought was true. You love them like a sister or brother and then learn that no matter what they say, when you need them they are never there. You trust them with what has happened in your life and grace them with seeing who you truly are, to an extent. Everyone has secrets and some are more closely guarded than others. How do you deal with the truth they avoid like the plague? You keep your mouth shut and let them make their own mistakes. Even though you want to scream no the entire time. You let them go and move on with your life. If they really are a true friend they come back eventually, even if it takes years. Then again some don't come back at all.
"Have you ever been low? Have you ever had a friend that let you down so? When the truth came out where you the last to know?"
So here I say goodbye to a best friend (again). Moving on is easier since this is not my first experience with goodbye. Goodbye my once best friend. I hope you can turn your life around. I am here for you if you need me but the ball is in your court. I quit trying.
